• Blinds which have a dark outward facing colour installed over western or northern facing single or double-glazed windows.

• Note: darker coloured aluminium window frames and mullions will also contribute. 

The fabric may distort due to excessive heat absorption caused by the build-up of heat between the window and the blind on hot sunny days. It is recommended that lighter outward facing colours are used if the above is applicable as lighter colours absorb less heat due to their superior reflective thermal properties. If a darker colour is still preferred, the installation of effective external sun protection and window film will reduce fabric heat absorption and distortion.
